Antiplanet is an installation of household objects that have been recalibrated. Using the same equipment and techniques that are used for guiding telescopes, the nineteen kinetic sculptures have been aligned with the axis of Earth and rotate at the same speed—but in the opposite direction. To align the objects with the axis of the planet, the angle of the telescope mounts are set to the latitude of Oslo, 59.9º, and are turned to face true north. The small motors attached to the mounts then rotate the axis to make one revolution every 23 hours 56 minutes and 4.1 seconds (known as a sidereal day), matching the rotational speed of Earth. The rotation, however, is in the opposite direction in order to stay in alignment with the celestial sphere—just like a telescope tracking a star.

Antiplanet er en installasjon som består av rekalibrerte husholdningsgjenstander. Ved hjelp av samme utstyr og teknikker som brukes for å styre teleskoper, har de nitten kinetiske skulpturene blitt satt på linje med jordens akse og roterer i samme hastighet – men i motsatt retning. For å få gjenstandene på linje med planetens akse, er stativene stilt inn på Oslos breddegrad, 59.9°, og de er rettet mot sann nord. De små motorene som er festet til stativene roterer rundt aksen, slik at det blir én rotasjon for hver 23 time 56 minutt og 4,1 sekunder (kjent som et siderisk døgn), og har dermed samme hastighet som jordens rotasjonshastighet. Rotasjonen går imidlertid i den motsatte retningen for å holde seg på linje med himmelkulen – som et teleskop som følger en stjerne.
